Green Frog Outdoor Furniture, LLC  Is located in Petaluma CA about 40 miles north of San Francisco in Sonoma county, in the world famous Napa Sonoma California Wine region.

I started out in the outdoor furniture business by making Adirondack chairs and some tables from Western Red Cedar which I got from a supplier in Oregon.  My background is as a carpenter and this seemed like a nice fit to begin my own business and use my wood working skills as well.
The wood furniture was fine but labor intense and I wasn't entirely comfortable with how the lumber was being harvested, in fact I wasn't sure how it was being harvested.
Then I came across the recycled plastic furniture by Poly-Wood. This not only was very durable and long lasting, it was "green" and colorful, made in USA, and is turning a liability- plastic in landfills- into an asset- virtually indestructible outdoor furniture.
So now I focus on promoting the advantages of buying and using recycled plastic as outdoor furniture. Instead of sanding and gluing I am working on our website or explaining the benefits to customers in our storefront. I have to say I do enjoy the reactions of folks when they first hear it is recycled plastic, and to watch the smiles cross their faces as they listen to the benefits. Folks especially seem to enjoy the part about never having to paint it since the color is in the material not just on it.
Maintenance free and long lasting and being "green" are certainly desirable qualities in outdoor furniture, but perhaps most important is how comfortable these chairs actually are. After all if a chair isn't comfortable what good is it?
